Our Tipton County
School Clinics
Partnership with the Veterinary Science Departments in the three Tipton County High Schools and the Tipton County Animal Shelter work to increase animal welfare in our communities. Each high school has a veterinary clinic on site.
Munford Spay Neuter Clinic
The Munford Spay Neuter Clinic was our first partnership between the Tipton County Animal Shelter and the Munford High School Veterinary Science program. The program has worked with the shelter to spay and neuter all cats that come through the shelter. In the beginning, we had one clinic per month, and now we operate 1 clinic per week for shelter cats. In the beginning, we had one clinic per month, and now we operate 1 clinic per week for shelter cats. We have not euthanized a healthy cat since our beginning in 2016.

Brighton Spay Neuter Clinic
The Brighton High School Clinic focuses on spay/neuter for dogs being adopted from the Tipton County Animal Shelter. No dogs is adopted without first being spayed or neutered. The Brighton Clinic is not open to the public. The clinics are held monthly.

Covington Wellness Clinic
The Covington Wellness clinic is located in Covington High School and focuses on wellness appointments for animals from the Tipton County Animal Shelter in the foster care program. Foster animals come to this clinic for vaccines and minor medical issues so they don't have to return to the shelter environment. Students are able to perform exams and give vaccinations while learning from our shelter veterinarians.
