I have experienced this with my two teaching positions. My teaching position of 20 years changed when our principal retired. The replacement was from a neighboring town and was not vested in our community. He was using the position as a stepping stone to another job is his home town. He did not appreciate the staff and the whole culture of our school changed. My current teaching position has a principal that loves her community, the students and all of the faculty. I have never felt more appreciated in my life. Every teacher works hard to make our school better and supports each other. It is an atmosphere where we feel safe, supported and valued. Your attitude and the way you approach others is so important.
